Upper Body Alignment: Head to Hand Support & Movement
with John Mackey
Saturday, December 7th • 2-5:00pm, In-Person Only
Discover the upper body alignment for our personal structure, so that we experience freedom in shoulder movement. Appreciate a new confidence in shoulder and hand mobility and strength. This is the third workshop which completes the body alignment series.
We will learn:
• how to use the arm and shoulder properly
• myofascial releases for neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist or hand pain
• the proper hand alignment for weight bearing to improve neck posture for shoulder safety
• why lifting weights (or the body) can be good and bad
In the practice session, we will
• have a short practice for shoulder freedom
• experience arm poses with a new awareness and ease
• strengthen bones, ligaments, and tendons from neck to hand
• engage muscles correctly for strength and support
• learn how to safely build an arm balance
This will be a feedback workshop, so ask questions and/or ask to explore special topics (rotator cuff injury, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel pain, etc.) By request, the workshop time has been extended: for slide review, to safely practice inversions (optional) with assistance from each other, and/or in-depth discussion.
