Resourced & Resilient

with Mary Richardson-Perez
Saturday, February 22nd • 10:30am-5:30pm
In-Person Only • Limited to 8 Students • $150

This day long retreat will blend ancient wisdom with modern neurophysiology to create movement, breathing and meditation practices that emphasize our ability to feel resourced and work towards increased resiliency. Resilience refers to the ability to successfully adapt to stressors, and maintaining well-being in the face of adversity. Resiliency requires self-awareness to know and understand how we are responding to a situation so that we can change our reaction or behavior. Research has shown that just like building muscle to improve our physical strength, there are things we can do to build resiliency. Some of the most powerful things we can do is breathe, move, and rest. This day long retreat will include all of the above, while incorporating a wide variety of therapeutic tools in a safe and sacred space. The retreat will be held in Mary's backyard studio, and is limited to only 8 participants.

The day will include:

- Opening and closing circles for community connection

- Discussion of ancient techniques and modern applications for building resiliency

- Grounding yoga practices

- Nourishing food

- Myofascial release

- Journaling or artistic activities for self-reflection

- Breathwork

- Guided Meditation

- Deep rest accompanied with sound

*** Mary's backyard studio is just a few minutes north of Studio Satya. The address, alongside additional retreat details, will be sent out via email the day before the retreat.
