Amber Byfield
Amber holds space people of all ages to more deeply connect to their emotions — and to one another — in play-based yoga and mindfulness practices. She weaves her roles as mother, author, and artist into her yoga teaching. Her classes create a safe space to explore and learn about how we notice, name, and allow feelings to move through our bodies.
Amber's yoga journey began in 2005, with teachers who held space for her on the mat, again and again. Yoga became a way to work through all sorts of emotions: joy, anxiety, grief, and more — and then find moments of equanimity. After a decade of practice, Amber earned both her 200-hour RYT and her children's and family yoga teaching certificates. She has taught a range of ages, from toddlers to octogenarians, inviting joy and play to be a part of the practice no matter the age.
In 2023, Amber self-published her first book, "Jojo's Heart Party," a social-emotional learning picture book that introduces emotions. She weaves ideas from her writing into her yoga teaching, and is excited to bring them to the mat at Studio Satya.
